Correctional Facility

The Van Zandt County Detention Facility is a division of the Sheriff's office and is charged with the care, custody, and control of all county prisoners. This facility will house a minimum of 192 offenders. All prisoners are housed in accordance with Texas Jail Commission Standards. This facility has a full time nurse on staff and several rehabilitative programs for the inmate population. Security of this facility is of the utmost importance and facility rules and policies will be followed.

Inmate Visitation Procedures:

Visitation Schedule

	Monday		6:00pm - 8:00pm
	Wednesday		1:00pm - 3:00pm
	Saturday		1:00pm - 3:00pm

2 visitors per visit, juveniles count as one visitor
2 visits per week
20 minute visits
All visitors must be on inmate's visitation list
Visitor must have valid state photo identification
Proper attire must be worn
No items may be carried into visitation area
Any visit may be denied in the best intent of the facility or the inmate
Special visit must have prior approval from the Jail Administration office

No mail will be forwarded. If inmate is no longer in this facility, all mail will be returned to the sender.
Any books, magazines, or newspapers must come directly from the publisher or bookstore.

Monies for Inmates:

Monies for inmates must be in a money order form made out to the inmate and may be mailed to the inmate at the above address.
Money orders may be dropped of at the Jail Administration office during regular business hours (Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm except holidays).
